Jeff Parker departs Dailey & Vincent for his own solo venture

Nashville, TENN -- With more than 3 decades as a touring and recording artist, Jeff Parker has officially stepped out on his own; returning to his musical venture known as Jeff Parker and Company. The Kentucky native and bluegrass fan-favorite recently made his final appearance with Dailey and Vincent after a dozen years with the group.
“I’m so grateful for my time with Dailey and Vincent,” Parker says. “It’s been a great adventure, filled with fun and opportunity. From the Grand Ole Opry and Carnegie Hall, to the Library of Congress, national TV appearances and countless radio shows, I’ve long stopped trying to count the many blessings. Still, it’s time to set my sights on a new adventure.”
Parker’s beloved father, Vester, passed away in early 2018. He’d not only been a huge influence in Jeff’s life, but was an influential banjo player in the Kentucky music scene. In the wake of that loss, Jeff began to seriously consider a career move.
“At 57, I want to give it a shot under my own name,” Jeff says. “I feel like it’s time and I know my dad would be proud. It’s something we certainly talked about and I’m excited for the challenge.”
Jeff began playing music with both the support and inspiration of his father, singing with the family Gospel group as a teen. He later performed for a decade at Renfro Valley, and in 2001 joined Lonesome River Band. In 2007, he joined Dailey and Vincent, holding down the mandolin spot, sharing his incredible vocals, and plenty of onstage antics.
As Jeff Parker and Company, he previously produced four albums, “Two Roads to Travel” (2004), “Go Parker!” (2012), “It’s Christmas Time” (2013), and “Jeff Parker and Company” (2015). His next project is in the works, with a release planned in early 2019.
Jeff is still in the process of assembling his touring band. It is expected to be a five piece with plenty of high energy and flavored with Jeff’s characteristic humor. Bluegrass will be the order of the day, but Parker is known for including a little classic country sensibility as well.
Jeff Parker and Company’s first appearance January 4, 2019 at the Jekyll Island New Year’s Bluegrass Festival, with several additional dates recently announced. For more information, keep up with Jeff on Facebook and at www.jeffparkerandcompany.com.
